About these guidelines

These guidelines have been created to ensure that anyone who needs to create any kind of communications material for the RSC can do so in a consistent way to a high quality.

They provide basic principles and rules for applying the brand, plus the key resources needed to deliver the brand successfully, from basic artwork to full document templates.

Each page of the guidelines has annotated guidelines and/or a specification available as a downloadable PDF. (Adobe Reader can be downloaded free of charge). This will detail any measurements and special instructions required for the production of that item.

Adobe InDesign templates (for printed materials) are also available to download in most cases. These templates contain stylesheets and have example pages in place available to use as required. These InDesign files are all in InDesign CS2 format, and should be used wherever possible as the basis for new documents: they will save you time and ensure that the materials are being produced consistently.

Any additional samples or produced examples may be available by following the gallery link in the 'Related links' panel on pages where this is available.

Examples of work that have already been produced, and are considered to be good examples of their type, can be uploaded to a gallery on the RSC intranet. This gallery provides an additional resource to demonstrate how the new brand has been implemented across other parts of the organisation. Should you wish to upload examples, please contact gibsonn@rsc.org
