Sizing the logo
A key component of the identity system is defined by the area given over to the logo in most materials. This 'branding strip' is used on all front covers of marketing and promotional material produced by the RSC.
The size of this strip is directly relevant to the size of the item being produced. Skeleton templates are available to download from this page for common document sizes in addition to more detailed templates for specific materials, found in their relevant place within these guidelines.
If non-standard sized materials are required, the size can be worked out using this simple process:
Please note that the registered charity number should appear on these materials unless approved by Neville Reed or Richard Porte.
Size and position
Step 1: Allocate the branding strip. The height of the branding strip area is equal to 10% of the height of the document, i.e. 29.7mm in the case of an A4 document, etc.
Step 2: Size the logo. The logo itself should then be sized to 25% of the branding strip height (i.e. 2.5% of the overall document height.)
Step 3: Position the logo. The logo is then centred vertically within the branding strip area. The left margin is determined by the height of the letter 'R' in the logo as shown.
Step 4: Set the page area. The same margin width is then applied to the right and top of any document to set the basic page boundaries.
