Analyst, 2011, 136 (DOI: 10.1039/c0an00550a).   Amendment published 7th January 2011.

The authors regret the following errors:

(1)  In Table 1, an unwanted “A” (adenosine base) is appearing in the 5′-end of sequence FAM-Trp3a-5. An unwanted “FAM” and “A” (adenosine base) are appearing in the 5′-end of sequence FAM-Trp3a-4 (FAM is in the middle of this sequence). The correct sequences should be as follows:

FAM-Trp3a-5: 5′FAM-ATTGGTTAGGTCAGGTTTGGGTTT
FAM-Trp3a-4: 5′-CAGGCACGTTGGTTAGGTCAGGTFAMTGGGTTTCGTGCTTG

(2)  1–2 nucleotide bases are missing in the graphical DNA structures of Trp 4a and variants of Trp3a in Fig. 1, Fig. 4 and the graphical abstract. But these sequences shown in Table 1 are correct except for sequences Trp3a-5 and Trp3a-4 (please see correction 1). The correct structures are shown below.

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
