Heterogeneous colorimetric sensor for mercuric salts

Emilio Palomares, Ramón Vilar and James R. Durrant

Chem. Commun., 2004, 362 (DOI: 10.1039/b314138a) Amendment published 11th March 2004

The authors wish to point out that although the spectrometric sensitivity of Hg2+ sensing is correctly reported as 0.5 ppm on page 363, paragraph 3, lines 4–6, the equivalent micromolar sensitivity is stated incorrectly. The corrected sentence should read “Spectrophotometric detection allowed the sensing down to 3 µM of Hg2+ (0.5 ppm of Hg2+), as illustrated in Fig. 3.”.

The authors would also like to thank Johnson Matthey Ltd. for supplying ruthenium dye.

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for this error and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
