In Table 1 the values of the Stern–Volmer quenching constants for urate quenching by Tb and Eu complexes of ligand 4 are incorrect.

In the column headed 'Urate' the entry for [Tb.4] should read 0.025 mM and the entry for [Eu.4] should read 0.09 mM.

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
