Readers should be aware that there is an error in Table 1. The value given for the calculated lowest-energy excitation of the trochrocene derivative 2 is incorrect. The correct calculated wavelength of this HOMO → LUMO transition is actually 674.28 nm. The calculated value given in Table 1, i.e. 621.59 nm, corresponds to the second excitation of 2 involving the transitions HOMO → LUMO+1 and HOMO → LUMO+3 with an oscillator strength of 0.001.
