Environmental impact statement

This study is to extract laccase from G. lucidum SMC and investigate the optimal conditions for the removal of organic toxic chemicals. Because laccases have a tolerance to pollutants at high concentrations, they have attracted growing attention in many industrial and environmental fields. Based on our findings, future work will be attempted to define further extraction and enzyme purification factors which influence laccase activity. We also hope that more effective enzymes could be obtained from SMC for use in the removal of environmental contaminants. We report here that the method developed in this study has a great potential to be used for the effective removal of organic toxic chemicals in the environment.
