The sentence toward the end of the Introduction

“However, no work exists which determines local deformation as a function of depth in shell material, and in different structural regions.”

is incorrect and should read:

“However, no work exists which determines local deformation as a function of depth in shell material, and its relationship to mechanical properties. The technique on multilayered materials has been developed prior to this study.^12,13”
