Relationship between UVB and erythemally weighted radiation

On page 253, we correctly state that a UVI of 10 corresponds to 0.25 W m−2 erythemally weighted UV radiation. But the equations in the preceding lines have the multipliers interchanged. The equations should be:

UVI = 40 × UVEry (for UVEry in W m−2)

UVI = 0.4 × UVEry (for UVEry in μW cm−2)

Taking this into account, the equation on page 254 also changes, and should be:

UVB280–315nm (W m−2) = 0.189 × UVI (i.e. not 18.9 × UVI)

We apologise for this error, and thank Andreas Albert from the Helmholtz Zentrum München, Dept. Environmental Engineering, for drawing this to our attention.
