Rooms

Our grade II listed library has been refurbished to highlight its beautiful architecture, providing a prestigious venue for banquets, awards ceremonies, receptions and lectures. One of the largest rooms in the Chemistry Centre, it has built- in audiovisual facilities and can be hired as part of a suite of first floor rooms.

The Science Room was originally designed as the ante-room to the lecture theatre of the Royal Society whose gilt logos can still be seen around the ornate ceiling and on the radiator grills. Our largest room, it is well-suited to drinks receptions, seminars, workshops, and dinners and can also be combined with the Fish Room to increase capacity.

The Fish Room has views over the courtyard and fountain and is well-suited to committee meetings, and corporate events, as well as drinks receptions and private gatherings. This ground floor room is easily accessible, and can be combined with the Science Room to increase capacity.

The Priestley Room is set back from the activity of the courtyard. This quiet environment and the heritage feel of the room strike a tone suitable for private board meetings, presentations, or small business lunches, as well as formal dinners.

In a central location on the first floor with wonderful views over the courtyard, this room is a beautiful setting for large committee meetings, exhibitions, and corporate workshops. The Council Room also displays artwork from the RSC’s collection, including Blaikley’s painting of Michael Faraday delivering a Christmas lecture at the Royal Institution in 1855.

This intimate room houses many articles from the RSC’s Historical Collection of valuable books, including the Camps/Robinson collection on forensics and toxicology, and the Nathan collection on explosives and firearms. This stimulating atmosphere is ideal for intimate dinners, creative discussions and breakout sessions.
