Early Career Networking

An early career member is any member who is in the early stages of their career. This includes members in industry, teachers, students, academics, and apprentices, as well as members who are returning to work or study following a career break, or changing career path.

We recognise those on different career journeys will have different needs, but there are many early career opportunities available through staff-led activities and our volunteer-led Interest Groups and Local Sections, providing benefits such as:

  • communication opportunities between peers, employers and senior members
  • opportunities for presenting work, especially through talks
  • the opportunity to attend conferences
  • help and advice when applying for research grants
  • opportunities for careers advice and support
  • communication opportunities with a global community
