We are looking for TikTok savvy PhD students to help inspire the next generation of chemical scientists.
Through our Chemistry: Making the Difference campaign, we’ve been shining a spotlight on the chemistry-related career paths that can make a positive impact on people and the planet – and we need you to help us take it to the next level.
We became the first Learned Society in the world to join TikTok and are officially a #LearnOnTikTok partner. This has seen us livestream the landing of the Perseverance Rover on Mars, demonstrate how chemists are tackling issues such as sustainable fashion and plastic pollution and work with some of the most exciting creators on TikTok.
If you can create attention grabbing and fun chemistry-related educational content, you could become one of the new faces of RSC’s TikTok channel.
We are currently recruiting for five freelance positions. The successful candidates will be required to create 15 videos between 11 and 60 seconds long, to be filmed between August 2022 and April 2023 paid at £1000 with an opportunity to receive training from TikTok creator Max Tobin (who previously ran @MinistryofScience).
There are just five positions available! To apply to be part of this, please do so via the ‘apply now’ button or email us with a bit of information about yourself and your studies, along with an example of an 11–60 second video you think would work well on our TikTok channel. If successful, you will be invited to a brief virtual call.
If you have any questions about submitting your application, please email us.
