The time has come to register your interest in the Royal Society of Chemistry Top of the Bench Competition 2020 -21.
We will be running the East Anglia Heats of the competition through an online quiz which can be taken remotely. The top teams in the region will then compete in a digital practical challenge (also to be taken remotely) in order to crown the Regional Top of the Bench Champion!
If you are unfamiliar with the competition a team of 4 students (2 from Y9, 1 from Y10 and 1 from Y11) take part in chemistry challenges to win prizes, the title of Regional Champions, and the chance to take part in a national final against other schools from around the country. Due to the current COVID situation the national final will take place in a digital form towards the end of March (date to be confirmed).
If you are interested, the initial quiz round (estimated as 30 mins) will take place, at a time of your choosing, between the 23rd November 2020 and the 8th January 2021. Students should complete the quiz at school, individually but simultaneously, under supervision. The top teams in the region from this initial round will complete an online practical challenge (estimated as 45-60 mins) between the 18th and 22nd January 2021.
