Science and EU membership
Our president, Professor Dominic Tildesley, has given oral evidence to the House of Lords on science and the European Union.
The evidence session, which took place on 15 December, was part of a House of Lords Science and Technology Select Committee inquiry, focusing on the relationship between EU Membership and the effectiveness of science, research and innovation in the UK.
The session included questions on the impact of regulation, mechanisms for industry-academic collaboration and the sourcing and use of scientific advice in policy making.
Professor Tildesley gave evidence alongside Professor Paul Boyle, president and vice-chancellor, University of Leicester and Professor Andrew Harrison, chief executive of the Diamond Light Source.
A full transcript will be available in due course and we also submitted written evidence as part of the inquiry.
