Due to ongoing COVID-19 uncertainty, this grant will remain paused for 2022. Members wishing to attend or organise in-person events can seek support through our Researcher Development Grants.
Members with caring responsibilities or those with specific assistance needs themselves may also be interested in our Grants for Carers and Assistance Grants, respectively, which now also support home-based activities.
We are keen to support participation by PhD students and early career scientists (<10 years post-PhD or leaving full time education) in scientific conferences and workshops. Our Travel Grants for PhD Students and Early Career Scientists give two options for our members to fund their travels...
Non-competitive grants - for those attending RSC meetings
Members travelling to attend RSC-run conferences or workshops may be entitled to a non-competitive grant of up to £200.
These grants support member attendance at RSC-run conferences and eligible applications are not competitively judged. Instead, grants are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Competitive grants - for all events
Members may also apply to their Division (excluding the Industry and Technology Division) for a competitive grant to support their participation at any scientific conference or workshop anywhere in the world.
Grants are available to cover domestic (up to £200), continental (up to £400) and intercontinental (up to £800) travel.
To check your Division membership, or to join a Division, please email the Membership Department, providing your membership number. Applicants must be a member of the Division they nominate in their application.
