  •    What is an RSC ID? An RSC ID is an integrated account with the Royal Society of Chemistry. This is being rolled out across both new and existing products and services, so in the future customers of the Royal Society of Chemistry will need just one single account to carry out all their activity with us.
  •    Why do I need to register? You can register for an RSC ID to get access to content across various Royal Society of Chemistry platforms. As the RSC ID is rolled out across our products, this single unified sign in will enable you to use tools and services seamlessly between different Royal Society of Chemistry web platforms. You can access many of our products and services without having to register, however the RSC ID will enable you to personalise your own experience with the Royal Society of Chemistry online. You may also need to register to validate that you have access to particular products and services.

Registration

  •    Why do I need to verify my email address? When you sign up for an RSC ID we will send you an email asking you to verify the email address you gave us during the registration process. Verification of your email address will ensure that we are able to contact you in the future about your RSC ID if necessary. You can also request for this verification email to be sent again from your Account Settings page.
  •    How do I link social accounts with my RSC ID? To link social accounts to your RSC ID, sign in to your RSC ID and click on the ‘Connections’ tab in the navigation bar. You can then choose to connect your RSC ID to your Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter/Google accounts.
  •    Can I connect more than one social account with my RSC ID? Yes, you can choose to connect your RSC ID to multiple social accounts. To link social accounts to your RSC ID, sign in to your RSC ID and click on the ‘Connections’ tab in the navigation bar. You can then choose to connect your RSC ID to your Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter/Google accounts.
  •    When I try to create a new RSC ID, I get an error message saying ‘RSC ID for this email address already exists’, what does this mean? This message means that there is an existing RSC ID that uses the email address you have entered. We permit only one email address per RSC ID. If you have previously created an RSC ID using this email address and need help signing in, click on the ‘Need help to sign in?’ link and enter this email address. We will send you an email detailing the ways to access your RSC ID. If you need any more help, please email technicalsupport@rsc.org
  •    When I try to create a new RSC ID using social network, I get an error message saying the social account is already linked with another RSC ID, what does this mean? This message means there is an existing RSC ID that is already linked to the social account that you are trying to register with. If you have previously created a RSC ID using this social account or had linked the account to your RSC ID before and need help signing in, click on our ‘Need help to sign in?’ link and enter this email address. We will send an email detailing ways to access your RSC ID.
  •    How will the Royal Society of Chemistry use my information? Please refer to the RSC ID terms and conditions and our privacy and cookies policy.

Problems Signing In

  •    What if I can’t remember my password? If you can’t remember your password you can ask to reset it. Please click on the ‘Forgot your password?’ link, enter the email address that is registered with your RSC ID and we will send you an email with instructions on how to reset your password. If you need any more help, please email technicalsupport@rsc.org
  •    How do I change my password? Once you have signed into your RSC ID, select Account Settings by your name displayed in the top navigation bar and choose ‘Change your password’. You will then be asked to confirm your old password and create a new password. Click ‘Save’ once completed.
  •    What if I can’t remember whether I used a social sign in to create my RSC ID? If you are having problems accessing your account, please click on the ‘Need help to sign in?’ link, enter the email address that is registered with your RSC ID and we will send you an email detailing the ways to access your RSC ID.   •    What if I need help signing in to my RSC ID? If you are having problems accessing your account or need helping signing in, please click on the ‘Need help to sign in?’ link, enter the email address that is registered with your RSC ID and we will send you an email detailing the ways to access your RSC ID.   •    How can I deactivate my RSC ID? You can deactivate your RSC ID by clicking on the 'Deactivate your account' link on the bottom right on your account settings page.Clicking on the link will take you to a page informing you about deactivation of an RSC ID along with an option to deactivate your account
  •    What happens if I deactivate my RSC ID?

    If you deactivate your RSC ID you will no longer be able to sign in to your RSC ID. Deactivating your RSC ID will also deactivate your profile and your public profile will no longer be visible.

    Should you change your mind you will be able to reactivate your profile and your previous settings will be restored.

    Current subscribers: If you deactivate your RSC ID you will no longer have access to any content you are currently subscribed to that you access using your RSC ID.
  •    How do I reactivate my RSC ID? Your RSC ID can be reactivated by sending a request to technicalsupport@rsc.org with the subject line ‘RSC ID: Reactivation Request’. Please include the email address associated with your RSC ID

Unless prompted, please continue to use your RSC member ID to sign in to the restricted member pages.
  •    How do I change the email address associated with my RSC ID? Sign in to your RSC ID and change the email address in your Account Settings. An email will be sent asking you to verify this new email address to ensure we are able to contact you in the future about your RSC ID if necessary.
  •    How can I close my account? To close your account please email technicalsupport@rsc.org
  •    What does 'Keep me signed in' do? If you select the 'Keep me signed in' checkbox your session will last for a week even if you close and reopen the browser. If you do not select the 'Keep me signed in' checkbox, your session will only last as long as the browser is open.
