This classroom-based course covers all the practical theory about Liquid Chromatography and its related techniques including liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
This course is packed full of examples and practical tips, makes full use of props (instrument parts and consumables which are handled and used for demonstration purposes), includes questions throughout the course and a Q&A session at the end of the day.
The course provides an introduction to HPLC and LC-MS and the importance of good chromatography. This is followed by reviewing the types of solvents and their properties used in the mobile phase along with information on gradient elution and the problems frequently encountered in this area. Strategies for how to optimise your LC system will be discussed.
Sample introduction techniques are taught in detail including optimisation covering manual injection and various autosampler injection techniques and when to use them.
At the end of the course you will have in-depth knowledge, from the practical point of view, of HPLC and LC-MS and a good understanding of the importance of good chromatography. You will have learned how to select the appropriate sampling technique, solvents and sample introduction technique.
Prerequisites
This course is for those who have a basic knowledge of liquid chromatography and would like to greatly enhance it in the areas of Solvents, Pumps, Plumbing and Sample Introduction.
