Table 1 reported E° for MP-11 and its enthalpic and entropic components in glycerol and in aqueous buffer. The values of the enthalpic components reported were incorrect. The correct values for H°_rc are 35.3 and 16.5 kJ mol^–1 in glycerol and aqueous buffer respectively. The corresponding values of H°_rc/F are –0.366 and –0.171 V respectively. The value of H°_rc, and the conclusions of the manuscript are unaffected by these changes.
