A paper by F. Glorius and colleagues entitled 'Switching the electron-donor properties of N-heterocyclic carbenes by a facile deprotonation strategy' should have been included in reference 3 and mentioned in the introductory paragraph.

The following citation should be added to reference 3:

In the introductory paragraph the text 'Lavigne, César and colleagues…' should be replaced by 'Glorius and colleagues, and Lavigne, César and colleagues…'
