Conflict of interest statement

In this paper, the co-authors Qixin Deng, Chaozhang Huang, Wei Xie, Jianping Zhang, Yiqiang Zhao are all employed by Fujian Tobacco Industrial Corporation (FTIC). Among them, Qixin Deng worked in Wei's group in Fuzhou University (FU) as a Master's student and focused on the synthesis of Ti-based nanostructures. A part of this research has been published in ChemComm (Chem. Commun., 2008, 3657–3659). After he graduated in 2009, he was employed by FTIC. In this paper, the nanomaterials were provided by FU and the remainder of the work was conducted in FTIC. Thus, we declare that the present paper was carried out by FTIC and FU.
