The structures of compounds 14, 20, 28–33 and 55 are incorrect. The correct structures are given below:

The words "light-emitting" should be omitted from the first sentence of the abstract which should therefore read:

"This tutorial review presents some recent developments in the design, synthesis and implementation of organic solution-processable molecular fluorophores for non-doped electroluminescent devices."

In the second paragraph of Section 5, the sentence "The lower x-coordinate associated with the EL emission peak (λ_em = 660 nm) seems to be attributed to an unknown broad and weak emission around 500 nm observed in the EL emission." should be omitted.

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
