Chem. Soc. Rev., 2014, (DOI: 10.1039/C3CS60464K ). Amendment published 4th March 2014.

Equation 4 (section 3) explains how one can calculate the absolute redox potential of a compound from the computed free energies of the oxidized and reduced species in solution ( and ) and that of an electron in the gas phase (). In the article, this relationship is given in the following form:

(4) = + /F

During the editing process, an error occurred in this equation and the correct form is the following:

(4) = ( + )/F

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
