Oxygen evolving reactions catalysed by manganese–oxo-complexes adsorbed on clays

The oxidation state of Mn in the dinuclear manganese compound at the end of the reaction sequence of Scheme 2 is incorrect and it should be MnIV–MnIII.

The published version of Scheme 2 should be amended as shown below:

Scheme 2 Oxygen formation pathways proposed for the reactions of a dinuclear manganese compound A with hydrogen peroxide (top) or oxone (bottom).11,33–35 In isotope labelled water one oxygen atom of the formed O2 originates from the bulk water in the oxone pathway while both O atoms of the O2 originate from H2O2 in the peroxide pathway.
