In Scheme 1, the reagents and conditions for step (i) should be 11-bromoundecanoyl chloride, pyridine, THF, rt, 12 h.

Similarly, the second paragraph of the Experimental section should read:

The starting material 9 for the synthesis of our target material 1a–e were accessed through a series of reactions starting from the cholesterol based compound 3 which had been prepared by the esterification reaction of cholesterol with 11-bromoundecanoyl chloride in THF at room temperature in the presence of pyridine as a base.
