We would like to bring the following to the attention of readers in relation to the above article.

In the article, the authors indicate that compound 3 [(S)-3-methyl-3-amino-1-(4′-cyano-4-azobenzene)pyrrolidine] is available for purchase from Aldrich. This is not the case and the authors have provided a synthetic procedure and characterisation for this compound. This has accordingly been uploaded as Electronic Supplementary Information in April 2013.

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
