J. Mater. Chem., 2012, 22, 10441–10443 (DOI: 10.1039/c2jm31091k). Amendment published 11th May 2012.

The correct order of the names of the authors of this paper is as given above and not as in the original publication.

The last sentence of the first paragraph should read as follows: P-type CdTe is selected in this work because of the nearly ideal band gap15 for solar terrestrial photoconversion (~1.5 eV), high optical absorption coefficient (greater than 105 cm-1 at 700 nm), and long term stability; in addition, it forms a type-II staggered band interface with the TiO2 shell for efficient charge separation.16,17

The acknowledgements should read as follows: This work was supported by the Center for Energy Nanoscience, an Energy Frontier Research Center funded by the U. S. Department of Energy, Office of Basic Energy Sciences under Award Number DE-SC0001013. The authors thank Dr. Dongdong Li and Liubing Huang for helpful discussion and Dr. Siyuan Lu for the assistance of solar cell efficiency measurement.

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
