We would like to apologise to readers of the above paper for the following mistakes.
Page 468, right hand column, line 10. The line beginning 'in the silane 5' should be changed to 'in the silane 6'.
Page 468, line 3 of footnote **. The line beginning 'it is likely that this process is reversible to some extent under the reaction conditions' should be changed to 'because it is likely that silanethiyl radicals abstract hydrogen reversibly from C-5 in 10-cis and 10-trans under the reaction conditions'.
Page 470. Eqn. (8). Structure 27b has one extra methyl group at C-5. The correct structure is shown below.
