The text of the Results and discussion contained an error on p. 577, line 4: "PrⁱMgCl" should be amended to "BuⁱMgCl".

In Scheme 1 (p. 578), "PrⁱMgCl" as a reagent in steps ii and iii should also be amended to "BuⁱMgCl"; "PriOH" in step vii should be amended to "PrⁱOH"; and "1 M TMSBr-thioanisole-TFA" in step x should be amended to "1 M TMSBr-thioanisole in TFA".

In Scheme 2 (p. 579), "DCC" as a reagent in steps iii and v should be amended to "DIPCDI"; "1 M TMSBr-thioanisole-TFA" in step vi should also be amended to "1 M TMSBr-thioanisole in TFA".
