has been reported previously in the following article:

pH/temperature dual stimuli-responsive microcapsules with interpenetrating polymer network structure, Zhimin Xing, Congling Wang, Jie Yan, Li Zhang, Lan Li, Liusheng Zha, Colloid Polym. Sci. (2010) 288:1723-1729

Although further results are reported in the article published in Soft Matter, the prior article in Colloid Polym. Sci. was omitted as a reference.

The Editor of Soft Matter was not aware of the earlier publication and was informed of the duplicity only after the submission, peer review and publication of Soft Matter, 2011, 7, 7992.
