Core–shell microgels as model colloids for rheological studies

M. Siebenbürger , M. Fuchs and M. Ballauff

Soft Matter, 2012, (DOI: 10.1039/C2SM07011A). Amendment published 6th March 2012.

The sentence (on page 6)

"SGR finds power-law long-time relaxation at the transition, which is cut-off at a finite τ above the transition temperature;73,74 this corresponds to G(α)(t/τ → 0) → ∞."

is false and should be disregarded. It should be replaced with

"Physically, SGR models only the slow motion between traps, and its stress relaxation function G(t) does decay to a finite value on a timescale τ that diverges near the glass transition. But the shape of the relaxation is pure power law with an exponent depending on distance from the transition, and this gives rise to a shoulder rather than an alpha-peak in G''(ω)."
