J. Mater. Chem. A, 2014, 2, 2517–2525 (DOI: 10.1039/C3TA13460A). Amendment published 4th February 2014.

In the first paragraph of the Introduction, in the sentence beginning "However, the power conversion efficiency", the value of 15% should be 1–5%, so that the sentence reads:

"However, the power conversion efficiency of these QDSCs, typically with the efficiency of 1–5%, still lags far behind ~12% of DSCs."

In the fourth paragraph of page 2522, in the sentence beginning "As presented above, the ammonia treatment" should read:

"As presented above, the ammonia treatment brought about larger pore sizes and more pronounced rough surfaces, which made the scattering capability of the beads decrease and increasingly approach that of individual nanoparticles."

The Royal Society of Chemistry apologises for these errors and any consequent inconvenience to authors and readers.
