The RSC Biographical Database
This database contains nearly 5,500 records of information, photographs and links to obituaries of RSC, Chemical Society and RIC members published since 1841. It also contains obituaries and historical profiles of other notable chemists who may not have been members of the RSC.
Using the Database
- When searching, it is often sufficient to enter just the surname; wildcards (*) are not used.
- Checking 'Yes' in 'All fields must match' is the equivalent of putting AND between your search terms, checking 'No' is the same as putting OR
- Many of the obituaries and articles are free to view but some may require payment. RSC Members have free access to all articles from 1841 to 2007. Where there is a reference but no link, please contact the library to find out how acquire a copy of the full-text.
