Electrochemistry Group

The Electrochemistry Group is one of the RSC's many Interest Groups. The Interest Groups are member driven groups which exist to benefit RSC members, and the wider chemical science community, in line with the RSC's strategy and charter.

The Electrochemistry Group of the RSC represents and co-ordinates the interests of a very wide range of scientists involved with all aspects of electrochemistry.

Objectives

  • To organise events
  • To promote the involvement of postgraduate students in regional, national and international conferences
  • To inform Group members and provide a mechanism for discussion

Meetings

The primary mission of the Electrochemistry Group is to provide a central focus for the development of basic, strategic and applied electrochemistry.

The group plays a central role in the organisation of the main UK national electrochemistry conference every year, the Electrochem Conference Series, which, since the first Electrochem '94 conference in Edinburgh, has established itself as a central forum for discussion and debate.

The Electrochemistry Group also financially supports regional electrochemistry meetings. The idea of such meetings is to allow graduates to give lectures on their PhD work whilst incurring no more costs than travel to and from a local venue. We also have an online community, which is based on MyRSC, for anyone who shares our interests.

Get Involved

We are always looking for new members who are keen to get involved and to help organise our activities. If you would like to find out more please contact the Secretary.
