Marketing Group
This Group is one of the six Specialist Interest Groups formed when the Industry and Technology Forum reorganised in 1995. It has a long history in that it was part of the original Industrial Division soon after that body was formed.
Aims
- To provide a focal point within the RSC for members to discuss, exchange ideas and learn about the marketing of chemicals, chemicals-based products and technology.
- To organise lectures by specialists in marketing-related subjects, from both chemical and non-chemical industries. Topics include market size, market trends, production economics and competition.
- To address other factors influencing the marketing of chemicals, such as environmental issues and changes in health and safety legislation.
- To encourage and support the interchange of information, knowledge and opinion between individuals and groups engaged in all aspects of the marketing of chemicals throughout the world.
- To arrange conferences and meetings covering a wide variety of marketing issues within the chemical and allied industries, including petrochemicals, paint, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, textiles, food and beverages. Previous meetings include: What exactly is a Business Strategy?, The chemistry and marketing of chocolate, and New marketing tools for scientific instrumentation in the laboratory.
