Awards

Three awards are offered jointly by the RSC Colloid and Interface Science Group and the SCI Colloid and Surface Science Group.

McBain Medal

The McBain Award recognises the contribution of younger talent and was succeeded in 2006 by the McBain Medal. The Medal is awarded annually to an early career researcher.

Nominations are accepted from both RSC and SCI members. More information about nominations is available on the SCI website.

Thomas Graham Lecture

The Thomas Graham Lecture is awarded to a researcher in the prime of their research career, who has established an international reputation in colloid science, and who has already made distinguished contributions to the field. Graham Lecturers will typically have the prospect of at least another 15 years of active research ahead. The award is named after Thomas Graham, who is considered one of the founders of colloid science. The award was made every three years until 2017, but it was awarded biennially thereafter. Further details are available on the SCI website.
