Ronald Belcher Award


The Ronald Belcher Award is given for work on an analytical topic, by a graduate of a British or Irish University.

Sponsored by the Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund.

Rules and Criteria


  • Run annually
  • Open to graduate students of British and Irish Universities only
  • Candidates are not permitted to nominate themselves
  • Name and contact details of two referees required who will be contacted by the RSC - these may include the candidate's post-doc or PhD supervisor
  • A copy of 1 research paper by the nominee
  • One page CV for the candidate which should include their date of birth, website URL, summary of education and career, total numbers of publications and patents 
  • A one page supporting statement addressing the selection criteria
  • Nominations open on 1 September 2009
  • Nominations close on 31 January 2010
  • The RSC Analytical Division Awards Committee decides upon the recipient of the award
  • Winner receives £500 and a certificate
  • The winner will be required to present his/her work at the annual Analytical Research Forum meeting of the Analytical Division (13-15 July 2009)
