Associate Member is the first of our professional membership categories. You’re eligible if you are building your professional experience and have degree level knowledge of the chemical sciences.
Becoming an Associate Member means…
Recognition for your skills and knowledge
- Use the letters AMRSC after your name as a clear statement of your professionalism and commitment
- Start your journey towards chartered status by joining the professional registers. As an Associate Member you can apply to become a Registered Scientist (RSci), a chance to formally show the skills and experience you’ve gained since graduation
Access to resources that help you get ahead
- Use specialist career support including our specially designed Catalyst consultation, CV checks, online career guidance and CPD resources to help you manage your professional development
- Keep up to date with the latest advances using Chemistry World magazine, free article downloads and access to a library of source material dating back to 1841
- Develop your skills on courses from our approved training catalogue
- Stay on the move and collaborate with the help of travel grants, conference discounts and the option to work with a mentor
- Support others in the community and build your experience by volunteering through our Chemists’ Community Fund
The chance to make career-advancing connections
- Meet our global network by joining two of our 73 interest groups, and get involved with specialist divisions and local sections to contribute to their work supporting the chemical sciences. Your first two interest group choices are free, and for a small charge you can join as many more after that as you’d like
- Share knowledge and exchange ideas in our early career network forum and the MyRSC online community
- Create opportunities to raise your profile and find people who can help you get ahead using your conference discount
Being a Royal Society of Chemistry member has put me in contact with plenty of ‘chemists by trade’ who have taken the same journey as me and become experts in their field.
