Scope and History

Scope

This Symposium provides an international forum for presentation of research into radiochemistry in the natural and engineered environment. The scope of the Symposium includes: analytical radiochemistry; the behaviour of radionuclides in the environment; radioactively contaminated land; fate of radionuclides in the natural and engineered environment and behaviour of radionuclides in radioactive wastes. This quadrennial Symposium will be held in Oxford, UK on 13 – 15 September  2006.

History

This is the tenth Environmental Radiochemical Analysis (ERA) Symposium and we are celebrating the 40th anniversary of this conference series. This three-day meeting is a well respected international conference of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Papers (from oral and poster presentations) are peer reviewed and collectively published in a book which is released through the RSC. In recent years the RSC Radiochemistry Group has held these four-yearly symposia at Maidstone, Blackpool and Bournemouth. ERA 2006 will be held in Oxford on 13 – 15 September 2006.
