42nd IUPAC Congress: Chemistry Solutions

The RSC has won the bid to host the 42nd IUPAC Congress, at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow. The biennial Congress is one of the major international conferences in chemistry and will run for 5 days (from Monday 3 August - Friday 7 August 2009). 

The Congress will reflect the breadth of the chemical sciences, highlighting the impact of our science and exciting innovations with an overall focus on Chemistry Solutions.


Themes


Themes will include:

  • Chemistry for Health
  • Analysis & Detection
  • Materials
  • Communication & Education
  • Industry & Innovation
  • Energy & Environment
  • Synthesis & Mechanisms

Themes will overlap in several places and the programme will be designed to be accessible and relevant to all. A more detailed list of topics will be published here when available.


45th IUPAC General Assembly


The 45th IUPAC General Assembly will take place Friday 31 July - Thursday 6 August.
