Introduction

The series has since then continued to honour prominent theoretical scientists every third year. In 2015 the 8th MQM conference, with the title "Celebration of the Swedish School", will take place in Uppsala, Sweden, in honour of Per. M. Siegbahn, in recognition for his seminal work on correlated wave function theory. The conference will also be in memory of Per-Olov Löwdin and Björn O. Roos, two Swedish theoretical chemists who's work in a many respects have been fundamental to the field. The conference will be on general subjects in theoretical chemistry with an emphasis on wave function theory and quantum nuclear dynamics. In all 74 oral presentations will be given and two poster sessions will be held.
