Introduction

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

The WaterEnergyNEXUS is one of the most important and priority issue to be resolved for both current and next generations. The Sanitary Environmental Engineering Division (SEED) of the University of Salerno ‚Äč(Italy) in cooperation with Advanced Institute of Water Industry at Kyungpook National University (Korea) and with The Energy and Resources Institute, TERI (India) is organizing the second Edition of WaterEnergyNEXUS Conference, that will be held in Salerno (Italy) from November 14 to 17 of this year.
The first edition of WaterEnergyNEXUS has been organized last September in Korea during the Asian International Water Week, one of the more relevant and strategic appointment of 2017 in Asia for scientists and professionals that are working on the field of the water industry and sustainability.
This year WaterEnergyNEXUS will provide an international platform to share and discuss key topics on such water issues with the presentation of nature-based solutions, advanced technologies and best practices with the support of experts invited as plenary and keynote speakers. This edition is organized with the support of the UNESCO World Water Association Programme (WWAP) and of the International Water Association (IWA) and under the patronage of several scientific societies, associations and organizations. An additional aim of the next WaterEnergyNEXUS conference is to contribute to the overall goal of enhancing cooperation, integration and sustainable development in the Euro-Mediterranean region on critical topics of Water and Energy.


Conference Topics

Topics of interest of the WaterEnergyNEXUS conference include, but are not limited to the following aspects:

  • Nexus framework and governance;
  • Environmental technologies for the sustainable development of the water sector;
  • Future clean energy technologies and systems under water constraints

 Submission Open: March 22, 2018
 Submission Close: June 30, 2018
 Acceptance Notification: August 5, 2018
 Early-bird Registration Close: August 15, 2018

 Deadline for Regular Registration: October 1, 2018

Publications

All accepted papers (max. 3 pages) after the pre-conference peer-review process will be published as book chapters in the conference proceedings by Springer Nature. All the works presented at WaterEnergyNEXUS, are candidate for the submission in the collaborating journals (ISI Journals) for inclusion in special issues after the peer review process of the journals.
