Introduction
These workshop sessions will help pharmacist practitioners who deliver pharmacy and clinical services to provide structured evidence of knowledge and skills relevant to their clinical practice for employers, commissioners and the new regulatory body for Pharmacy (GPhC). The sessions will support delivery of safe and effective practice for patients, carers and clients and in addition the afternoon workshop session covering MUR skills in Dermatology will be of great value because one third of the population experiences a skin disease and evidence based practice in Dermatology is of high relevance to community Pharmacy practice.To explore the MUR process in relation to the treatment of common (long-term) dermatological diseases, to enable pharmacists to contribute to the care of patients with these conditions.
Learning outcomes
After completing the workshop participants will be able to:
• Describe the key features of acne, eczema and psoriasis
• List three points concerning effective medicines use in each of acne, eczema and psoriasis that should be covered during a MUR
• Assess the findings of MUR interviews for acne, eczema and psoriasis
• Make appropriate recommendations
• Complete the MUR form correctly and constructively
