Molecules of Murder

16 October 2015, Alnwick, United Kingdom

Introduction
Dr John Emsley, the author of Molecules of Murder, is coming to The Alnwick Garden to talk about poisons used by infamous murderers and famous victims. He looks at the target molecule itself, its use in medicine, its toxicology and its effects on the human body then investigates a famous murder and reveals the modus operandi of the poisoner and how they were caught.

The Alnwick Garden is the ideal venue, with its own Poison Garden where you can see the poisons themselves before hearing what they can do and have already done to some famous people.

Distinguished guests will be present in the form of Her Grace, the Duchess of Northumberland, and Sir John Holman, the President Elect of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

The event includes a tour of the Poison Garden, the talk on Molecules of Murder, and light refreshments. There is also a bus available for a further fee, and a discount for accommodation at the Hog’s Head in Alnwick.
