About the speaker:
Tomas Lindahl is a Swedish scientist who made ground breaking discoveries around DNA damage and repair. He directed the the Clare Hall Laboratories from 1986 to 2005 and has been awarded the Royal Society's Royal Medal, the Copley Medal and the Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

His laboratory at Clare Hall uncovered the mechanism of DNA repair has deepened the understanding of the way that the human genome protects itself from damage.
