Chemistry Heritage Evening

21 November 2016 18:00-19:30, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

Introduction
Chemistry at Newcastle can be traced back to 1832, where six local medics gave instruction to a few students in rented rooms on Pilgrim Street.  This became recognised as the Medical College and paved the way for Newcastle University as we know it.

The history of the School and famous faces that have passed through our doors, laboratories and lecture theatres prove that the importance of chemistry in our everyday lives won't be diminished over time.

The evening will include a key note speech by Professor Bernard Golding, rare artefacts and archive material will be on display to share our stories, and refreshments will be available for guests.

Cost: Free of charge. Places are limited and you must register your attendance.
