Introduction
Forensic Workshop
Mike Spore is a Fingerprint Expert and Document Examiner who has gone on to head Royal Mail Forensic Services.
He was initially employed by Essex Police for 9 years in the Crime Scene Laboratory, working as a Crime scene examiner, and Expert Witness in many Police prosecution cases.
In 1989 he took up a new position as Deputy Head of Royal Mail Forensic Services in London, later going on  to become Head of Department. This involved liaison with many of the regional Police Forces countrywide, and gaining assistance from Forensic Experts in other fields, as required.
During his time at Royal Mail he worked on a wide variety of casework, and provided central scientific support to all of the Royal Mail Investigators located countrywide.
A highlight of his career has been the receipt a Chief Constable’s Commendation for forensic work on a large fraud case which spread across a number of continents, following a joint operation with British Transport Police.
During the Workshop he will give an insight into his background, and provide examples of previous casework he has played an active part in. He will also demonstrate some of the methods and equipment used to combat crime within a large National/International Business such as Royal Mail.
Booking required, please contact Mrs Sarah Phillips at rscessexsection@gmail.com to book.
