Deliver an engaging and interesting talk on Chemistry, spend an evening alongside other enthusiastic chemists and science communicators, and win prizes! What more could you ask for!

To celebrate the International Year of the Periodic Table (IYPT), we are inviting individuals to deliver talks on the following themes:

  1. An Element of the Periodic Table – Talks could cover the discoverer, the history, the uses or interesting ‘quirks’ of physical or chemical properties of a given element. Talks could also cover the story of the individual(s) who first discovered the element.

  2. Elements in our everyday lives – Talks should cover the chemistry and application or product where an element plays a key role.

Each speaker is given 10 minutes to present on their chosen topic with, or without, a PowerPoint presentation (no other visual aids permitted).
