How to get involved with career sessions in schools

24 February 2021 16:00-17:00, United Kingdom

This event is for RSC Members only

Introduction
Are you an RSC member who would you like to be more involved with schools and secondary education? We will be running a STEM careers session with teachers on the 4th of March and we are looking for chemists/scientists who are interested in careers outreach to join our session and meet current teachers. There will be opportunities for the teachers to ask you questions about your work and, in turn, you will be able to quiz the teachers on what good career talks in schools entail.

The total time commitment would be:
  • Wed 24th Feb 4-5pm virtual meet and greet with RSC staff (we will share examples of questions to expect and the general outline and expectations of the session)
  • Thurs 4th March 4-5pm online STEM careers session with teachers
If you are interested in participating in this session, then please email us by the 20th Feb 2021 (educationadmin@rsc.org) and include a brief outline of why you would like to participant and any relevant experience you may have (it is not a requirement to have had previous experience working with schools).
Places are limited, so please don’t delay. This is a pilot session, and there may be more opportunities to engage in the future.
