Online Volunteer Tutor Training with The Access Project

7 July 2021 17:30-20:00, United Kingdom

This event is for RSC Members only Book now

Introduction
The Access Project is looking for RSC volunteers to support disadvantaged young people aged 14-18 for 1 hour a week from Sept/Oct 2020 with their Chemistry GCSE or A level studies, via an easy-to-use dedicated online platform.
  • Support a young person in Chemistry to achieve the GCSE / A level grades they deserve and to fulfill their potential
  • Inspire, motivate and raise aspirations towards further education & the world of work
  • Students supported by The Access Project typically achieve a grade higher at GCSE and are four times more likely than their peers to progress to a top-third ranked university.
The Access Project is running an exclusive training event for RSC members via Zoom which will include a focus on chemistry resources and tutoring Chemistry GCSE and A level. RSC Education Coordinator for the Midlands, Heidi Dobbs will also be onhand.

Please sign up and quote "RSC" on the sign up form to be emailed with an invite. If you're not able to make the session, you'll be sent alternative training session dates.

No prior tutoring experience necessary, volunteers are asked to have an undergraduate degree, or be studying towards one, be willing to undertake a DBS check (criminal records check), and offer two references.

If you are working towards your CChem, this is a great addition to your portfolio.
