Materials tackling infectious disease – a networking workshop

17 November 2021 13:00-16:30, United Kingdom

Introduction
On behalf of the Royal Society of Chemistry Materials Chemistry Division, we invite you to join us in November 2021 for an online workshop and networking event on materials chemistry innovations to tackle infectious disease.

Materials tackling infectious disease will bring together materials chemists, clinical scientists and researchers in infectious disease biology to build new connections and to identify opportunities for, and barriers to, collaborative R&D. As well as bringing materials chemists together with other disciplines and promoting the exchange of ideas, the workshop will explore the factors that promote or hinder successful collaboration and translation.

The programme will feature keynote speakers covering detection and diagnosis, vaccines and therapies, and tackling transmission – materials in the environment, followed by structured networking sessions to build new connections and explore how materials innovations can be translated to clinical application.

The workshop will also feature a session of lightning talks from early career researchers. The deadline for submission has been extended to 3 November 2021, so please submit your abstract by this date using the abstract submission link provided.

We look forward to welcoming you in November.
